Newborn Western Bluebird chicks
These Western Bluebird chicks are only hours old. Two have hatched, the third has cracked his shell, and the last two eggs haven't started to hatch. 

Photo by Chuck Tribolet, triblet@almaden.ibm.com using a Nikon 105 mm macro lens, a Nikon SB-21 ringlight, and a Nikon N90s body on Kodak Lumiere 100X (LPZ) slide film. They were scanned with a Nikon CoolScan. Digital image processing was done under OS/2 using ColorWorks V2 (tm) by SPG
