Project Bluebird includes three Kestrel boxes.  Kestrels are small falcons.  The chick above was photgraphed during one of the box inspections.. 

Juvenile Kestrel, just fledged.
This male kestrel fledgling is only a couple of days out of the nest box and is waiting for mom or dad to come back and feed him 

 

Photo by Chuck Tribolet, triblet@almaden.ibm.com using a Nikon 105 mm macro lens, a Nikon SB-21 ringlight, and a Nikon SLR body on Kodak Lumiere 100X (LPZ) slide film. They were scanned with a Nikon CoolScan II.  Digital image processing was done under using Adobe Photoshop.
