Through
tours, guest speakers, discussions, and projects, the Career Exploring
Program gives the most information available regarding job opportunities
in science and technology. This program consists of weekly meetings
throughout the school year with qualified professionals in their
field of expertise. The goal of this program is to give students
an opportunity to observe first hand fields in science and technology
that later on could help them choose their profession.
Young
adults ages 14-21, of an inquisitive mind regarding science and
technology are welcome to join. This Explorers Post not only focuses
on science and technology but also on community service. Our volunteer
work includes answering phones for Public Broadcasting Stations
during pledge breaks, helping out at nearby aerospace and technology
organizations, and working at local air shows. The proud sponsor
of all our endeavors is the IBM
Corporation.
Our
meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays
of each month. They're held at the
IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose, California at 7:30
p.m.
