Service Systems Research Service Practices Service Design Service Models

Mission

The Service Models group does research on business and industry models, transformation methods and tools to support efficient consulting practices. The foundational aspects of business architecture, business performance and service-oriented ecosystems are key to the understanding of services business and industries. We cover practical and theoretical aspects of the business modeling field. We work in close collaboration with different divisions in IBM to ensure that our research outcomes are aligned with the priorities and needs of our clients.

Our research blends a number of disciplines and specific areas in economics, mathematics, business, finance, software engineering and tooling for business consultants. Thus, our team has a multidisciplinary background and works across the world with other teams in our Research Division from Watson and China Research Lab.

The Service Models group supports the overall mission of the Almaden Services Research by focusing on delivering value to our clients, transfering innovation to our global business services consulting base, and advancing the state-of-the-art of service systems foundations.
