Biography
Rob Flaherty is a senior partner of Ketchum, a top ten global public relations
firm. He is responsible for the agency's global practices, which are organized
to cover client vertical industry categories and key communications disciplines,
including Brand Marketing, Corporate, Food & Nutrition, Healthcare, Technology
and Workplace Communications. Additionally, he is the managing director of the
firm's New York office. Mr. Flaherty also serves on the agency's ten-member Worldwide
Executive Committee and is responsible for the agency's National Research department.
Currently, Mr. Flaherty is Team Leader of One Blue, the multi-agency global
team created by Omnicom to serve IBM. One Blue serves IBM's customer communications
and corporate needs in more than 20 countries.
Mr. Flaherty's areas of specialization are global corporate and brand positioning
and crisis management. He has helped companies prepare for and respond to crisis
situations ranging from data security and airline accidents to product liability
and anti-trust litigation.
Mr. Flaherty joined Ketchum in 1989 after five years at Burson-Marsteller in
New York, where he was vice president/group manager. Prior to that he was on
the client side, as director of public relations for at the F.X. Matt Brewing
Company (now Saranac Brewing Co.) in Utica, New York.
Mr. Flaherty is a graduate of Syracuse University's Utica College and has attended
graduate level courses at Harvard Business School and the Center for Creative
Leadership. He is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America
and The Counselors Academy and serves as a senior judge in the annual PRSA Silver
Anvil competition.
Mr. Flaherty and his wife Tammy reside in Croton-on-Hudson, New York with their
two children, Ryan and Erin.
