IBM Research's Learning Optimizer (LEO)
project is the next-generation in query optimization for IBM's
universal database. It minimizes administration and queries
distributed, heterogeneous information. LEO is a equipped with
a feed back loop, which enhances the available information on
a database. It is capable of learning from its past mistakes
and fine-tunes queries as it learns about data relationships
and user needs.
