The aim of the CM Business Rules (BR) Infrastructure project is to build a BR infrastructure for CM applications. This project is still in a very early stage.
Business Rules Definition
A statement that defines or constrains some aspect of the business. It is intended to assert business structure or to control or influence the behavior of the business.
Advantages of a BR Engine
- Encapsulate volatile business logic into "business rules" for central management and rule engine interact with other tiers via data and control flow
- Agility and Control to provide "On Demand Business" and customizable business solutions
- Separation of concerns, the AOP philosophy
- Integration across different applications
Components of the BR Framework
- Agent Building and Learning Environment (ABLE)-based BR engine
- A CM-specific BR library for encoding business rules for CM
- An API for applications to integrate with the BR engine
- An authoring framework for creating, editing and managing BR evolution based on the CM Data Architect
