On Friday, June 3rd, current and former IBMers from San Jose Research and the Almaden Research laboratory marked the 100-year anniversary of the corporations founding. Message from lab director

Dr. Josephine M Cheng, IBM Fellow

This year, on June 16th, IBM will celebrate its 100th anniversary. This is a significant milestone - one that offers us a unique moment to reflect on who we are and where we are going as an organization.

Here at Almaden, we also celebrated our 25th anniversary. In tandem with the Centennial, we plan to use this year strategically to engage our constituents in new ways, deepening relationships and expanding upon their understanding of the modern IBM. The world will be looking at us in 2011 with fresh eyes. If we take full advantage of this moment, it will see a company that has done more than any other over 100 years to shape technology, business and the way the world works.

Thank you for joining us in commemorating these milestones.
