Masamitsu Hayashi is currently a post-doctoral visiting scientist at the IBM Research - Almaden, where he is studying the magnetization dynamics of magnetic nanostructures, in particular, the current induced dynamics of magnetic domain walls in magnetic nanowires and related devices.

A native of Tsukuba, Japan, Dr. Hayashi earned his B.S. and M.S. in Applied Physics at Tohuku University in 2000 and 2002, respectively. His research for at Tohoku University involved the electrical and structural characterization of magnetic tunnel junctions. He received his Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from Stanford University in 2006.
