Biography

Alex Panchula completed his Ph.D. from Stanford University's Department of Applied Physics in 2003. He carried out research for his Ph.D. thesis at the IBM Almaden Research Center on the magnetotransport properties of magnetic tunnel junction devices. After leaving IBM, Alex joined Lam Research and in November 2004 joined Grandis, Inc. as Manager of Materials and Process Development where he is working on spin-related phenomena.

Panchula earned his Bachelor's degree in Physics and Mathematics from Iowa State University in 1996. His undergraduate research focused on crystal growth, transport and magnetic properties of rare-earth intermetallics.
