Biography
Dr. See-Hun Yang is a Scientist/Engineer in the IBM Almaden Magnetoelectronics Group. He is designing, preparing and analyzing the properties of novel magnetic nanostructures for magnetic memory applications using theoretical simulations, sophisticated deposition systems and advanced spectroscopy and microscopic characterization methods. Dr. Yang is an expert in computer programming and has developed various programs for the simulation and analysis of data from synchrotron and laboratory based structural and magneto-transport experiments. Dr. Yang carries out advanced characterization of the electronic and physical structure of magnetic heterostructures using various instruments at both the Advanced Light Source, Berkeley and the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory.

A native of Seoul, Korea, Dr. Yang was educated at the Seoul National University, where he earned his Bachelor's (1990, with honors), Masters (1994) and Doctoral (1998) degrees in Physics. During his doctoral research, he was also a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Physics, Tohoku University, Japan and an Independent Investigator at the Max Laboratory, Lund, Sweden. He was a Postdoctoral Research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Materials Science Division and the Advanced Light Source before joining the Magnetoelectronics Group at the IBM Almaden Research Center in 2001.
