Software
Created using StarView, a multi-platform application
development framework, Chemical Kinetics Simulator v1.01 is available
on 4 platforms: IBM OS/2 2.x, OS/2 Warp 3.0 and 4.0, System 7.x for
Apple Macintosh, Apple Power Macintosh and Microsoft Windows 3.1/Windows
95/Windows NT.
To view and print the CKS User's Manual in Adobe Acrobat format,
you will need to acquire a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader for your specific
platform. It is available under a no-cost license from Adobe, and can be downloaded from the
Adobe website.
Hardware
- IBM or compatible personal computer with at least an
80386 microprocessor, Apple Macintosh based on the Motorola 68XXX family of
microprocessors, or Apple Power Macintosh and compatibles.
- No special memory requirements above those recommended for the operating system
- Approximately 3 Mbytes of hard disk space
- A math co-processor is required. Note that many microprocessors
of recent manufacture have a math coprocessor included on-chip - consult
your owner's manual for more information on this.
- A 3.5 inch, 1.4 Mbyte floppy disk drive to install CKS
- A VGA (Video Graphics Array) display or better
- A printer is optional, but is required to obtain hardcopy output
from CKS: any printer for text output, a
graphics or all-points-addressable printer for direct
screen prints of data plots, a PostScript or HPGL
printer for output of graphics files.
