Prerequisites

The Firebug enhancement works in Firefox 2. The enhancements do not depend upon eclipse or the other components of Fireclipse.

The Firebug overlay for Eclipse and the Eclipse plugin both need to be installed to connect Firebug to Eclipse. On my system Fireclipse works with Firefox 2.001 and Eclipse 3.2.0. I probably used some features of Eclipse 3.2 that do not appear in earlier versions.

The Fireclipse plugin depends upon org.eclipse.jface and org.eclipse.jdi.ui, so it requires Eclipse Java User Interface, but most eclipse users have that anyway I suppose. Nothing from the Eclipse Web Tools Project (WTP) or the AJAX Toolkit Framework (ATF) is required, but you might like the Javascript and HTML editors from those projects. The Fireclipse extension overlays Firebug, adding a new tab to the debugger panel.
